"Captain Pugwash" Cardboard Puppets

Description

Cardboard puppets created by the production for use in the British television series "Captain Pugwash" (1957-1966). Puppets are black and white drawings on thin sheets of cardboard. Paper fasteners hold the moving parts on, and movement is made through a protruding handle (much like is seen in a pop-up book). 

Thirty-nine (39) pieces total.

Obtained from Christie's South Kensington.

Includes Planet Hollywood Certificate of Authenticity.

Condition

Many pieces have areas of creasing and bending, while some have tears. Due to the nature of these puppets, it cannot be determined what may or may not have been lost since production.
