"Lightning Jack" Lightning Jack Kane's (Paul Hogan) Hat

Description

Cowboy hat created by the production for use in "Lightning Jack" (1994) for Paul Hogan's character "Lightning Jack Kane." Dark brown felt cowboy hat with telescope crease at top of crown.  Light brown leather hatband with three (3) metal decorations at front.  Each metal piece has a profile of a Native American.  The hatband ties with three (3) fringes on the proper left side.  Interior of hat has several layers of blue, tan, and black fabric adhered around the base of the crown.  It appears this was done to make the hat fit the wearer.  Hat has a long braided leather strap attached that goes under the wearer's chin.

Presented to Planet Hollywood New York by Paul Hogan on March 2, 1994, just prior to the film's release.

Condition

Lightly soiled throughout.  Hatband is creased and stretched throughout.  White accretions on underside of hat brim.
