"Masters of the Universe" (1987) Set of 2 Eternian Soldier Shirts

Offered here is a set of two Eternian Soldier shirts from the 1987 live-action film Masters of the Universe, produced by Mattel and Cannon Group. These distinctive costumes were crafted by Western Costume Co., one of Hollywood’s most iconic wardrobe suppliers, and exemplify the high-quality leatherwork and vibrant color palette of the film’s fantastical universe.

Both shirts are constructed from beige leather with navy blue patches throughout and feature blue rounded stand-up collars, capturing the signature look of the Eternian Soldier characters. Each shirt includes a zipper closure at the reverse, as well as a tan leather strap extending through the wearer’s legs that fastens at the front. One shirt features a reverse center collar snap button and Velcro strap closure for added security. Interior labels from Western Costume Co. note the sizing and stock numbers: one reads “NO 2113-1 / NAME STOCK / CHEST 44-1/2 SLEEVE 36” and the other “NO 2048-1 / NAME STOCK / CHEST 44-1/2 SLEEVE 36”, with “44” handwritten in black ink on the interior right collar.

Condition

Both Eternian Soldier shirts appear to be intentionally distressed, with spots of discoloration throughout consistent with the on-screen design. Several holes in the blue padding appear to be intentional, though the padding material is flaking in areas. One shirt has a broken zipper at the reverse closure. Overall, the shirts retain their studio-crafted appearance and reflect the authentic production design from Masters of the Universe (1987).
