"The Sea Hawk" Geoffrey Thorpe's (Errol Flynn) Slave Shorts
Description
Own an exceptional piece of Golden Age cinema with Geoffrey Thorpe’s slave shorts from The Sea Hawk (1940), made for legendary actor Errol Flynn in his iconic role as the daring English privateer. Produced by Warner Bros. during the height of Flynn’s career, The Sea Hawk remains one of the most celebrated swashbuckling adventure films of its era.
These tan canvas shorts feature a drawstring waistband that ties at the obverse center, designed for both authenticity and functionality in the film’s demanding adventure sequences. The interior waistband includes a Warner Bros. Pictures Inc. (Hollywood, Calif.) label with handwritten text reading: “GAR. NO. Earl [sic] Flynn / DATE 2/6/40 Prod. 296.” The shorts are intentionally distressed, reflecting the rugged conditions depicted in the film’s slave galley scenes.
