"Unknown Treasure" Black Beaded Hat (Possibly Marlene Dietrich)
Description
Decorative black hat with beaded detailing throughout. Front of hat has scalloped edges and scalloped beading. Reverse side of crown has two oblong cut outs. Interior in lined with lace.
This piece was listed in a Sotheby’s auction catalog as “...probably Marlene Dietrich,” the legendary screen icon and fashion trailblazer known for her bold personal style and close collaborations with top designers and costume houses. While definitive provenance cannot be confirmed, the attribution comes from a respected source and aligns stylistically with Dietrich’s known wardrobe choices.
Originally acquired from Sotheby's Beverly Hills Entertainment Memorabilia sale on May 21, 1997. This item was part of Lot 377.
