"Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" Metal Lunchbox and Thermo Bottle

Description

Acquired from Christie's South Kensington, merchandising tie-in lunchbox and Thermo Bottle featuring “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" (1979-1981).

Lunchbox: Metal lunchbox with a hinged lid and an orange plastic handle. The lunchbox has an image on the front of two of the cast members with an alien in front of a space-themed background with text at top reading “"BUCK / ROGERS / IN THE 25th CENTURY”.” Top proper right corner of obverse has a white circle with a headshot image of Buck Rogers. The sides of the lunchbox depict spaceships and characters from the show. The back of the lunchbox shows three of the characters in a spaceship and a robot. Interior of lid has a printed “SAFETY FIRST” information with three images of cartoon children demonstrating safe behaviors. Interior also has a metal bar to hold Thermos in place.

Thermo Bottle: White plastic bottle with an orange bottom and a orange cap that doubles as a cup. Printed image around thermos of a space scene featuring spaceships and characters from the show. Embossed text on top of cap reads “THERMO BOTTLE / Aladdin / THERMO BOTTLE”.

Condition

Lunchbox: Light scratches throughout. Color on obverse is faded from overexposure to light.

Thermo Bottle: Image faded due to overexposure to light.
