This highly detailed jacket and breeches ensemble originates from the production of Cromwell and is associated with the character of King Charles, portrayed by Alec Guinness. The black wool jacket is embellished with decorative dark gold piping and lace trim throughout the obverse, sides, and reverse, with gold lamé diagonal stitching extending across the garment.
