"Die Hard: With a Vengeance" Prop Glock 17 Pistol

Description

Created for the production of "Die Hard: With a Vengeance" (1995), this prop Glock 17 pistol was made for use during the explosive action sequences featured throughout the third installment of the iconic Die Hard franchise. Directed by John McTiernan and starring Bruce Willis as Detective John McClane alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Jeremy Irons, the film follows McClane as he races through New York City to stop a deadly terrorist plot, with firearms playing a prominent role throughout the production.

The prop is cast in black rubber from a Glock 17 pistol, allowing it to closely replicate the appearance of the real firearm while providing a lightweight and safer alternative for production use. The proper left side of the slide is molded with the markings "GLOCK 17 AUSTRIA 9 x 19," while the bottom of the grip is marked "GLOCK." The proper right side of the slide is molded with the serial number "UF569," and the proper right side of the ejection port is marked "UF569 9x19 GLOCK." Additional molded manufacturer-style markings appear on the proper right side of the grip and read "MADE IN AUSTRIA / GLOCK. INC. SMYRNA. GA. / U.S. Pat. 4539889," further enhancing the realistic appearance of the prop.

This piece was originally acquired from the Christie's East Entertainment Memorabilia auction held on June 28, 1995, where it was offered as Lot 180.
