"Martin" Sheneneh's (Martin Lawrence) Jacket and Skirt

Description

Created by the production for use in "Martin" (1992-1997) for Martin Lawrence's character "Sheneneh." This is a two-piece lot consisting of a jacket and a pair of shorts.

Item was seen in Season 1, Episode 26 “Baby You Can Drive My Car” which originally aired on May 6, 1993.

Includes Planet Hollywood Certificate of Authenticity.

Jacket: Purple mesh jacket with hood. Jacket opens at the front with a zipper. Obverse of jacket has four quilted areas over the purple mesh: golden on the top proper right, dark orange on the top proper left, cream on the bottom proper left, and lime on the bottom proper right. Two decorative buttons are on the obverse center: yellow on the proper left, and orange on the proper right. Both buttons have a dark golden swirl in the center. There is a red quilted square on the reverse center with a patch in the center. Text on the patch reads “LIFE / BEAUTIFUL / BODY / U.S.A.” A paper tag has been attached to the interior reverse that reads “2PC / STYLE Martin / SIZE Martin / Lawrence / as Shanence.”

Shorts: Purple quilted shorts. A strip of purple mesh is near the bottom of each left with a hem of the quilted material below it. Shorts open via a zipper at the front with one button above the zipper. The button has a metal bar across it. A paper tag has been attached to the interior reverse that reads “Martin / Lawrence / as Shenenah / STYLE Martin / SIZE.”

Condition

Jacket: Loose thread on obverse on the proper left of the cream quilted area. Large loose thread under proper left arm on the torso. Accretion of unknown origin on the reverse near the top proper left shoulder.

Shorts: A few loose threads throughout.
