"Once Upon a Time a Hero in China (Huang Fei Hong xiao zhuan)" Bad Egg Ken Shek's (Tony Ka Fai Leung) Headpieces

Description

A pair of headpieces created by the production for use in the Hong Kong film "Once Upon a Time a Hero in China (Huang Fei Hong xiao zhuan)" (1992) for Tony Ka Fai Leung's character "Bad Egg Ken Shek." 

Blue and White Headpiece: Metal and plastic headpiece which fans out from the crown. Blue pom pom balls with areas of white adorn the decorative framework. Pearlescent plastic balls adorn the obverse bottom and wires throughout the piece. The headband ties at the reverse with two black strings. 

White, Silver, and Blue Headpiece: White, sliver, and blue headpiece. Silver metal and plastic headpiece which fans out from the crown. White pom pom balls with blue spots adorn the metallic decorative framework. Pearlescent plastic balls adorn the obverse bottom and wires throughout the piece. The reverse has hanging fabric strings and strings of plastic pearls which hang from a separate attached piece that goes on the back of the wearer’s head. A headband at the reverse is tied with two black strings.

Condition

Blue and White Headpiece: Many of the larger silvery baubles are broken or missing, The pom poms have darkened with dust. Many of the metal components are slightly bending. Black strings are worn.

White, Silver, and Blue Headpiece: The pom poms have darkened with dust, and many have flattened to some degree due to improper storage. Many of the metal components are slightly bending.
