"The First Option (Fei Fu)" Police Uniform - Special Duties Unit

Description

Costume acquired by the production for use in the Hong Kong film "The First Option (Fei Fu)" (1996). This is a twelve-piece lot consisting of a jumpsuit, utility vest, prop bulletproof vest, T-shirt, goggles, pair of black gloves, balaclava, ski mask, ammo belt, belt with gun holster, utility belt with pouch, and sign.

Jumpsuit: Navy blue jumpsuit with attached hood. Garment opens at obverse center via two zippers that runs from the neck to the legs. Jumpsuit has multiple pockets with zipper closures: two on the obverse at chest level, two hip pockets, two above the knees, and one on the outside of the proper left arm. Elbows and knees are padded. Reverse lower back has to soft Velcro squares. Tag on interior reverse reads “KILL HOUSE / 23888000” and has Chinese characters written on the tag in black ink.

Utility Vest: Black utility vest with multiple pockets. Vest opens at the front with two side release buckles (one at the obverse at chest level and one at the obverse near the bottom), and two Velcro straps at the obverse bottom. The vest can also be opened on the sides through two green straps on the left and right respectively. There are nine pockets on the obverse and five pockets on the reverse, most are filled with wood or plastic to give the appearance of being full. A telephone cord runs from the back lower right pocket to the obverse top shoulder where it ends with a faux microphone clipped near the collar, Top left obverse has slots with three shotgun shells attached. Tag on interior reverse reads “KILL HOUSE.”

Prop Bulletproof Vest: Fake black bulletproof vest with hard material inserts. Vest opens through four Velcro straps (two on the proper right near the bottom and two on the proper left near the bottom). Tag on interior reverse reads “KILL HOUSE” and has Chinese characters written on the tag in black ink. Warning: this is not a real bullet proof vest!

T-Shirt: Black T-shirt. Tag on interior reverse reads “SUCCESS / FASHION CLUB” and has Chinese characters written on the tag in black ink.

Goggles: Black goggles with a clear lens. These are Bolle X500 tactical goggles with vents above and below the lenses. Reverse has a foam padding around the outline of the goggles where they touch a face while worn. Elastic strap at reverse opens at the center via a clasp buckle.

Pair of Black Gloves: Pair of black leather gloves. Gloves have an external strap on the reverse at the wrist. Reverse of each glove is covered in unfinished leather. 

Ski Mask: Black ski mask with two eye holes and a hole for the mouth at the obverse.

Balaclava: Black balaclava with one large hole at the obverse.

Ammo Belt: Ammo belt with four pouches for magazines (two small and two large). The large pouches have Velcro flaps to hold the magazines in place. One small pouch and both large pouches have fake magazines made of foam within them. The belt attaches to the leg via four straps that buckle together at the reverse. The top reverse has a strap that attaches the ammo belt to a cargo belt above it.

Utility Belt with Holster: Black belt with gun holster. The belt attaches to the leg via four straps that buckle together at the reverse. The top reverse has a strap that attaches the ammo belt to a cargo belt above it. The holster has a snap button and Velcro straps on the top to keep a pistol in place.

Utility Belt with Pouch: Black utility belt with a large olive-green pouch, a small olive-green pouch, a black flashlight holster, and three plastic zip ties. The belt opens with a side release buckle on the proper right. Tape at the interior reverse has faded black Chinese characters. The large green pouch contains a strap of the same color. The small green pouch contains heavy tissues. The black holster holds a small black Maglite flashlight.

Sign: White canvas banner on two black wooden poles. Banner reads “Diversion” and has an arrow pointing to the proper right. A symbol containing the letters “AA” is on the obverse proper right at center.

Condition

Jumpsuit: Zipper has broken on the arm pocket, and the zipper pull is detached but included within the pocket. Staining of unknown origin on the top of right sleeve.

Utility Vest: Wrinkled and creased throughout. Minor staining on the reverse. One of the shotgun shells is mangled on one end. Missing shotgun shells from remaining pockets.

Prop Bulletproof Vest: Staining along the obverse top, shoulders, and reverse on top left. 

T-Shirt: T-shirt is slightly wrinkled.

Goggles: Clear visor is heavily scratched. Elastic band has been stretched out with creasing throughout.

Proper Right Black Glove: Glove has creasing throughout. Light brown dirt staining throughout. Very minor stain on obverse of glove near wrist. 

Proper Left Black Glove: Glove has creasing throughout. Minor light brown dirt staining throughout. Reverse proper left side of glove has a small green accretion on it.

Ski Mask: Very minor wrinkling. 

Balaclava: Very minor wrinkling. 

Ammo Belt: Straps are wrinkled, and the large ammo patches have white staining on the obverse. One small magazine is possibly missing. Unconfirmed if it is missing or was never included.

Utility Belt with Holster: Wrinkled throughout. Strands of (possible) hay or grass are adhered to the hook side of the Velcro on the obverse proper left of the gun holster.

Utility Belt with Pouch: Bags are wrinkled. Elastic straps on the top interior of the large bag are frayed. Small green bag is faded and stained. Small flashlight has wrings of accretions from being previously glued.

Sign: Poles have abrasions throughout with loss of paint. Canvas has yellowed and wrinkled.
